Hello, I'm Michael Caughey and this site is dedicated to the things I do. My time is split between all the things I like and love:

  • My Work (All day and all night)
  • My family
  • Second Life
  • My friends
  • My Hobbies

Most of my time goes into my work. My family get the bulk of the rest and everything else is fit in as I can.

What have I been up to?

I'm currently working for Topcoder as an Application Architect.

Outside of work I'm working on a couple of projects.

I'm working on a web application for TKD to manage the student base there. It's not as exciting as some but it is a useful tool that the TKD studio will be able to more efficiently manage its student base.

The UAV is back on hold for a little while. I did get a RC Hummer to practice some of the concepts in 2D before i move to 3D. I'll post video when I get it working.

I have found a platform that is small and yet powerful. I have taken back up the creation of a flight system that can manage autonomous flight as well as perform computer assisted flight. I'm using the Gumstix computer, as well as a 900 Mhz ethernet Bridge which will provide 1.5 MBit stream to/from the RC plane for up to 15 miles. Along with a servo controller and other sensors I plan to turn a gas powered RC airplane into my own UAV. There will be a cam in the cockpit and maybe one underneath. I'll post pictures and video as they become available.

In the past I have enjoyed writing mobile phone applications for gaming and business. See the Mobile Apps. So far I've written the following
