This site is hosted by :

Hello, I'm Michael Caughey and this site is dedicated to the things I do. My time is split between all the things I like and love:

  • My Work (All day and all night)
  • My family
  • My Hobbies
  • My friends

Most of my time goes into my work. My family get the bulk of the rest and everything else is fit in as I can.

What have I been up to?

I'm currently working for Capital One as an Application Architect / Tech Lead.

Outside of work I'm working on a couple of projects.

The UAV is no longer on hold. See my Blog for more information on what I'm up to with it.

I'm currently working on School, which finished up this June. Almost done with my Technical Management Degree. So i'll be A Computer Scientist that can manage people like me.

I've also been working on a few Facebook applications. Thus far i have two released.

  • Friend Factor : http://apps.facebook.com/friend_factor
  • Friend Shop : http://apps.facebook.com/friend_shop
I'm also working on some Blackberry and Android applications. Whats exciting about the Android work is that the Android uses Linux as its base OS. So you have a powerful computer and OS on your phone.
The work on the UAV is competely useful here. I had my dev environment set up to cross compile for the gumstix and i was coding in C. I already have the Android Kernel and have found one item to work on. I look forward to that submission. Then there is the application development. I can either do C development or J2ME. the J2ME work is using the Adroid framework which a lot like the microframe framework I was using on the MIDP 1 applications I already built. The Android framework is much more advanced than mine but like mine seperates out the navigation from thescreens with the Intents.
