This site is hosted by ME :-)

Hello, I'm Michael Caughey and this site is dedicated to the things I do. My time is split between all the things I like and love:

  • My Family
  • My Work (Makes everything else possible)
  • My School
  • My Tae Kwon Do
  • My Hobbies
  • My Friends

Most of my time goes into my work. My family get the bulk of the rest and everything else is fit in as I can.

What have I been up to?

I'm currently working for Capital One as Manager in Quality service for Performance Testing.

I get to mix my experiences with Software Architecture, System Administration, Network Engineering, Performance Testing with Technical Management.

I Graduated last October from Dervy with my Bachelors in Management. So I have all the core classes for Computer Science and Business Management. Now I'm headed back in July 2010 to start on my Masters in Information Technology. I'll be specializing in Secutiry Management.

Currently I seem as usual to have far too many projects up in the air. The most important side project at the moment is a mobile app that I'm doing for a customer.

After that The TKD Back Office App is moving along. I have the Student Management, EMail Champaign Manager and Payment Managment modules complete. Next is the branch Testing module.

The UAV, Android and gumstix development is still around but I do not get a lot of time to do much with it.

My next new passion is Cloud computing. For thoose of you that know me I have long been interested in SETI, mostly for the sole purpose that it furthered the goal of massively distributed processing. I always figured with it would come the concept of computer virtualization on the Internet where any machine instance could be assigned to a "Rent by the hour" computer image. Little did I know there would be disk drvie, IP Address and Network Virtualization too. I'm a bit caught up in it. I'm building a small cloud now and will detail more later on a sub page.

SCUBA diving is still a strong hobby and I look forard to more of it this summer. After the Bonaire trip last December I went to West palm Beach in March.

I'm still teaching TKD two nights a week, and Jimmy Ally and I all tested this past April for Black Belt. Ally got her 1st degree and Jimmy and I made 3rd degree. Mom started about that time and is working through her color belts.
