Yard BR Match 3 May 24, 2003 (Light Gun) |

I felt pretty good with this group. It was the first time I
recorded shots at 1000 Yards.
Group = 9.067"
Score = 31
If I recall correctly the wind wasn't too bad.
Don Heslip shot this rifle in another relay in this match and his
group was tighter by a half an inch.

I was again pleased with this group. I was happy with 1 MOA
for my first time out.
Group = 10.444"
Score = 38
As my group grows so does my score.

Yard BR Match 5 June 8, 2003 (Light Gun) |

I didn't have a lot of time to change too much of my bullet making
process. But this time I did weight all my brass. I
still wasn't too happy about shooting a 17" group. The
vertical was ~9". Previously I had been trying to
watch the wind flags at 600 yards and pay attention to the wind on
my face. this time I just fired 5 down range as fast as I
could.
Group = 17.374"
Score = 41
My trend holds, larger groups larger score. Luckily we shot
both matches the same day, so I didn't have to wait too long to
feel better.

Yard BR Match 6 June 8, 2003 (Light Gun) |

A bit better grouping, but notice they are further from the
X. I went back to paying attention to the wind. I
still have a lot to learn about shooting into the wind.
Group = 9.873
Score 23
Not too much to say but with Agg I still cam in 36 our of 36 for
Score and 35 out of 36 for group in the state match.

Yard BR Match 7 August 2, 2003 (Light Gun) |
The three middle shots had a spread of
2.490" and the vertical spread of the whole group was
3.95". The wind was pretty bad. I watched the
wind this time and still didn't help. I felt real good about
the three middle shots and the overall vertical size. This
time I modified my ammo making process a lot. I purchased a
Juenke ICC machine from the Accuracy Den. I was shooting
with only 2 DU bullets. I had separated all bullets by
weight and size as well. All brass was weighed and the neck
run-out was checked before and after. There was only
.002" of neck tension with all the brass turned to
.013".
Group = 17.257"
Score = 45
Again my trend hold up. This time only two people beat my
score and they were both 46. It sure would have been nice to
win score having such a large group.
I'll take this group any day. It says my rifle can shot, my
ammo will perform but the shooter needs to learn to shot into the
wind, or into the same wind condition.

Yard BR Match 8 August 3, 2003 (Light Gun) |
Nothing to show. Some how I manage to get Zero
on. You want to talk about frustrating. Just look at
yesterdays. I shot into the dirt and hit 8 - 12"
to the right. there was a stiff (~25 mile an hour) wind from
left to right at 600 yards. Another individual shot the
rifle and hit the target post just under where he was aiming.
Over all I put 14 rounds down range and nothing hit the paper.
Five of the bullets were 1 DU bullets all the same weight and same
length. |
